Four years after his last album, Sound Sultan has finally dropped his eight studio album “8th Wondah”.

The body of work houses 17 tracks (12 main and 5 bonus tracks) with guest appearances such as Wizkid, 2Baba, Johnny Drille, Peruzzi, Small Doctor, Daddy Showkey, African China, Falz and Teni.

The 2020 edition of 3Music awards took place on Saturday, May 2, 2020, but as part of the preventive measure to curb the spread of coronavirus, the show was held without a live audience, in Fantasy Dome, Ghana.

Sarkodie was the biggest winner with five awards out of the 12 nominations he had received, while other winners included Teni, Shatta WaleKofi Kinaata, Efya and Diana Hamilton.

The show was hosted by Ghanaian media personality, Jay Foley and access, Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku.

Last night I had the pleasure of hosting the first ever Virtual awards show in Ghana the #3musicAwards20 and it was FUNNNNN . Kinda awkward talking to empty chairs ? in a large auditorium ? but when you wear an amazing dress from @pistisgh , nothing else matters! ( Well, almost ?) Last night was awesome!!!

Sho Madjozi and Prev Reddy‘s proud African attitude and colorful personality have won them the 2020 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards (KCA) for Favourite African Star and Favourite African Social Media Star respectively.

Sho Madjozi was nominated alongside Shekhinah, Teni, and Patricia Kihoro in the Favourite African Star category, while Prev Reddy was nominated in the Favourite African Social Media Star category with Anne Kansiime, DJ Cuppy and Chané Grobler.

This year’s award show will reveal the winners virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic. Celebrities scheduled to appear on Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2020: Celebrate Together includes Dwayne Johnson, Ariana Grande, Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, Camila Cabello, Millie Bobby Brown, Ellen DeGeneres, BTS, Shawn Mendes, Lil Nas X and more.

Every year, the Africa Day celebration comes with excitement at the opportunity to celebrate the rich African culture. What better way to celebrate our beautiful and vibrant continent than with the universal language, music.

The Africa Day Benefit Concert At Home was a 2-hour live concert that was broadcast to millions of viewers in Africa and around the world on TV and YouTube.

The humanitarian concert was hosted by Hollywood star Idris Elba and featured star-studded special appearances from a host of celebrities and electrifying performances from some of the most talented artists across the continent like Davido, Tiwa Savage, Sho Madjozi, Burna Boy, AKA, Yemi Alade, Adekunle Gold, Teni, Timi Dakolo, and Cobhams Asuquo, Niniola, Reekado Banks, Rema, Sauti Sol, Seun Kuti, Afro B, Busiswa, Diamond Platinumz, Salif Keita, Angelique Kidjo, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Ismael Lo, Bebe Cool, and many more who are uniting to commemorate Africa Day and provide hope and inspiration during COVID-19.

The concert also featured special appearances by Bonang Matheba, Boris Kodjo, Omotola Jalade Ekehinde, Toke Makinwa, Chloe X Halle, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Falz, Rita Ora, Richard Mofe Damijo, Mr Eazi, Vanessa Mdee, Yvonne Orji, Fat Joe, Pearl Thusi, Nelson Freitas, Boity Thulo, Anika Noni Rose, Skepta, Wale, Jidenna, Kirk Franklin, French Montana, Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi and others.

The two-hour special aims to not only entertain viewers at home but also to raise funds that will support food and health needs for children and families in Africa affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The performance was opened by Davido and closed by Burna Boy.

DJ Cuppy shared the inspiration behind her debut album “Original Copy” in an interview with CNN. The forthcoming album is scheduled to drop this August and features artistes like Teni, Rema, Rayvanny, Fireboy DML, Stonebwoy, Sir Shina Peters, Ycee, Seyi Shay amongst others.

According to the disc jockey, the album houses twelve tracks and features thirteen artists on it for a purpose. With each track representing different parts of her, and tells a story. She stated that she understands that her artistry is still in the infantry stage and further revealed that the album contains different sounds from Hip Hop fusion to house. There are also amazing voice notes inside the album as well.

Cuppy’s star-studded Debut Album “Original Copy” is Finally Here!

Here you have it BellaNaijarians, Cuppy‘s tea is finally served.

Nigerian disc jockey, musician and producer Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, professionally known as Cuppy, has served us her much anticipated debut album “Original Copy,” and it’s simply amazing.

The tracklist, released at the beginning of August, revealed that the album includes Cuppy’s recent hit singles “Jollof on the Jet” featuring Rema & Rayvanny and “Karma” featuring Ghanaian dancehall artist Stonebwoy. 

And even more: there’s the legendary Sir Shina Peters, Grammy-winning Wyclef JeanBob Marley’s son Julian, and some of the biggest names right now including TeniFireboy DML, Seyi Shay, Ycee and Nonso Amadi.

Cuppy had given BellaNaija a sneak peek into the album, and speaking on the journey to making it, she said:

I went back to my roots, where I am from; Epe (a small Town just outside of Lagos, Nigeria) and mixed with the locals, I visited my family’s farm and recorded lots of ambient and animal sounds. If you listen very carefully you can hear these in each track.

Beaming about the arrival of her album, Cuppy goes on to say: “I am so proud that the album is now out. For me it’s not about numbers and statistics and charts. It’s about the fact that I was able to focus and actually achieve my dream of having an album. So honestly, I’m already happy regardless of what happens. Nonetheless, I encourage everyone to join this journey and I hope they enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed making this album.

The 6-track project which accommodates contributions from Teni, Toby Grey and Maestro is K1 De Ultimate’s first project in many years and puts a modern twist to the puritan Fuji sound.

K1 has seen it all in his 50 years plus career, enjoying critical & commercial success home and abroad in a career span that has taken him from young upstart in 1970 to an African cultural authority. The new EP was created and tweaked to perfection in two years.
